Sandra Denise Spitzer

Sandra Denise Spitzer of Jamestown ND, 83, passed away at Jamestown Regional Medical Center Saturday, April 11, 2020.

Sandy was born May 20, 1936 in Kensal, ND to August and Evelyn Spitzer. She started school in 1942 at a country school in McKinnon Township. In 1945 she went to Kensal Public School. After graduating from KHS in 1954 she attended Jamesown College before transferring to Valley City State University where she received a teaching degree. She went on to teach elementary school in Wishek, Drake, Mandan, Bordulac, and Kindergarten in Kensal until 1980. She then began her career at the Kensal Cafe as a cook where she worked for many years.

Sandy had an infectious personality. Time spent visiting and sharing stories with family and friends, especially children, was one of her favorite pastimes. Sandy also loved playing and watching sports. She was a very good High School basketball player and long time softball player and bowler.

Sandy is survived by her many friends and family members that enjoyed her fellowship and laughter. She was preceded in death by her parents August and Evelyn Spitzer, brother Neil Spitzer, and sister-in-law Bonnie Spitzer.

In lieu of gifts or flowers, donations can be made in Sandy's name to St.Paul's Lutheran Church or the Kensal Cemetery.

A memorial service will be held at a later date at St.Pauls Lutheran Church in Kensal with the burial to follow at Kensal Cemetery.
