Sandra Johns, 64, Rosemead, CA, died Saturday, January 17, 2009 in Whittier, CA.

Sandra Hattie Quigley was born February 18, 1944 at Trinity Hospital, Jamestown, ND, the daughter of Arthur and Hattie (Schielke) Quigley. She was raised and received most of her education in Jamestown, ND. She completed her senior year of high school in Barnesville, MN after her family had moved to Barnesville. After graduating, she attended the Pasadena City College, Pasadena, CA where she received her Associates' Degree. She began working at the University of California, Riverside and at the same time worked to obtain her Realtor's License. On May 4, 1969, she married Eldon Johns in Orange, CA. She began working for the Southern California Edison Company in their real estate department and later started her own Real Estate Brokerage Company in San Gabriel, CA. In 1977, they bought a home in Rosemead, CA and in 1979 moved to Huntington Beach, CA, where her son was born in 1982. She continued to work in Real Estate, as a homemaker and also as an accountant for her husband's trucking business. In 2004, she was diagnosed with breast cancer, but remained active until her last day.

Sandra was an avid fundraiser for the City of Hope Cancer Research center for many years prior to her diagnosis with cancer. After being diagnosied Sandra received treatment at City of Hope.

Sandra enjoyed travel, especially to Las Vegas, Hawaii, Europe and to visit her son in Texas. She also loved playing slot machines.

Survivors include her husband, Eldon and son, Jonathan, Houston, TX.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a half brother, Lyle.

Funeral services - 3:30 p.m. Saturday, January 31, 2009 at Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown, ND.

Burial - Later in the spring, 2009
