Sandra "Sandy" Franke

Sandra Rae Franke, 62, Jamestown, North Dakota, died Friday, April 28, 2023 at Sanford Medical Center, Fargo.

Sandra was born September 17, 1960, in Jamestown, ND. The daughter of Leroy and Velma (Morris) Roeske. She was baptized on October 23, 1960 and confirmed on April 20, 1975 at St. John’s Lutheran Church. She attended Jamestown schools, graduating from Jamestown High School in 1978. On July 6, 1985, Sandy married Carl Franke at St. John’s Lutheran Church.

Sandra served on many boards and committees throughout her life. She was a former board member on Gillespie (IL) Community School Board and St. John’s Lutheran Church Council. She was involved with the First Community Credit Union Board of Directors, NDFU County Board, Kiwanis, Camp Rokiwan Board, St. John’s Endowment and where most knew her from, Tastefully Simple. She enjoyed traveling, being with family, Bible studies, reading, watching sports, parades, and being a proud Grandma.

Sandra is survived by her husband, Carl, Jamestown; three sons, Kurt (Tara) Franke, Jamestown, Scott (Samantha) Franke and grandsons Hunter and Sawyer, Kensal, Jay (Shelby) Franke, Fargo; two brothers, Marvin (Lisa) Roeske, Fargo, Darwin (Pauline) Roeske, Jamestown; five nieces, Brandi (Todd) Lebahn, Ashley (Travis) Vinje, Danielle (Casey) Walleen, Quinn and Leah Roeske; many great nieces and nephews; and her long time best friend Nancy Schmidt.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leroy and Velma Roeske, mother and father in law, Orville and Bernean Franke, and nephew Wally Diede.

Family receiving Friends: 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., Friday, May 5, 2023, at Eddy Funeral Home.  Funeral Service: 10:30 A.M., Saturday May 6, 2023, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Jamestown with Pastor Erik Weber officiating.
