Sandy Schuchard

Sandra J. Schuchard, 48, Jamestown, North Dakota died Tuesday, September 13, 2005 at her home after a long, courageous battle with cancer under hospice care.

Sandra Joan Somsen was born December 29, 1956 at Trinity Hospital in Jamestown, the daughter of Obert and JoAnn (Bata) Somsen. She grew up and received her education in Courtenay, North Dakota graduating in 1975 from Courtenay High School. Sandy attended the ND State School of Science in Wahpeton for two years. She married Jeff Schuchard on March 7, 1985 in Jamestown. From 1976 until 2002, Sandy worked for Western Gear, now Goodrich. She worked for Great Plains Directory for a short time, retiring due to illness.

Sandy enjoyed camping, fishing, and especially spending time with her daughters and watching them participate in their various sporting events.

Sandy is survived by her husband, Jeff, two daughters, Sara and Jenny Schuchard, her parents, Obert & JoAnn Somsen and sister & brother-in-law, Shirley and Richard McGruder and nephew, Weston McGruder, all of Jamestown, and her brother & sister-in-law, Steve and Sherry Somsen and niece Jenna Somsen of Courtenay.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents.

Funeral Service: 10:00 AM, Friday, September 16, 2005 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Jamestown with Rev. Steve Berntson officiating.

Visitation: 1:00 to 8:00 PM, Thursday, September 15, 2005 at the Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown, North Dakota.

Burial: Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown, North Dakota.
