Sarah Elstad

Sarah Elstad, 87, Jamestown, North Dakota died Tuesday, October 14, 2003 at Jamestown Hospital, Jamestown. Sarah Mae Fairley was born May 2, 1916 in Jamestown the daughter of John W. and Frances (Libby) Fairley. She grew up and attended school in Jamestown. Sarah married Clarence Elstad on September 13, 1935 in Jamestown. They owned and operated the ""Crow's Nest Bar"" from 1957 to 1969. Sarah worked as a bookkeeper for several businesses in the Jamestown area.

She enjoyed quilting and made quilts for many area churches. She also enjoyed working in her garden.

Sarah is survived by six children, Shirley (Robert) Jeske, Evansville, IN; Robert (Donna) Elstad, Jamestown; Duane (Katie) Elstad, Oswego, IL; Clarence Elstad, Jr., Everett, WA; Carol (Jerry) Tyson, Jr., Aransas, TX; Craig (Nancy) Elstad, Keller, TX; 21 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and one sister, Edna Dockter, Jamestown.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Clarence, three sisters and one brother.

Funeral Service: 1:30 PM, Saturday, October 18, 2003 at Eddy Funeral Chapel with Pastor Bryce Tahran officiating.

Visitation: 1:00 to 9:00 PM, Friday, October 17, 2003 at Eddy Funeral Home.

Burial: Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown, North Dakota.
