Scott Schafer

Scott Duane Schafer, 55, passed away in his home on Tuesday afternoon, November 10, 2015. Scott was born July 25, 1960 in Fargo, North Dakota to Duane and Shirley (Borderud) Schafer and moved to Jamestown the same year. Scott graduated from Jamestown High School in 1979.
Scott married Debra Nelson in 1982. Together they had 2 sons, Matt and Shaun. They later divorced. Scott also has two other children with Lisa Kapp, a son Riley and a daughter Jade.
He was an active member in several organizations:
-Northern Plains District Grow the Game Chair;
-North Dakota Amateur Softball Association - Girls Junior Olympic softball commissioner
-North Dakota Amateur Hockey Association Vice President
-League Governments Committee Member
-State Tournament Chair
-Past League Director
Scott was also involved with the local Jamestown Hockey Association for several years as a past President and board member.
Scott is survived by his mother, Shirley Schafer (Jamestown), Sons, Matt and Chastity (Jamestown), Shaun and Briana (Jamestown), Riley (Jamestown) and daughter, Jade (Jamestown). He is also survived by his special friend Lisa Kapp (Jamestown); brothers Mike (Karina) and family (Spooner, Wi), Mark (Connie) and family (Owatonna, Mn) and sister Jill Schafer &Louie Weigel(Bismarck).
Scott Schafer was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents and his father.

Memorial Service: 1:00 p.m., Friday November 13th at Jamestown Civic Center Exchequer Room, with Pastor Bryce Tahran, officiating.
