Sever Olson

Sever Olson, 82, Cleveland, ND died Saturday, May 19, 2007 at his home. Sever Olson was born October 22, 1924 in Crystal Springs, ND to Ole and Gina (Arneson) Olson. Sever attended school in St. Paul Township, Stutsman County. He worked as a farmhand for various farmers in the area. Sever was employed in many fields including, road construction, at the service station in Medina, owned and operated a service station in Cleveland, Chevrolet garage, motorcycle mechanic at Gun and Reel and as a carpenter at the ND State Hospital for many years until retiring in 1991. Sever married LaVay Olson on February 14, 1960, in Pierre, SD. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing pinochle with the guys. Sever was a volunteer on the Cleveland Fire Department for many years and a member of Cleveland Senior Citizens. He is survived by, LaVay, Cleveland; two sons, Blaine, Windsor, ND and Damon, Cleveland, ND; three daughters, Linette Olson, Longmont, CO, Ranelle Olson, Fargo and Deslee Olson (Kyle Hanson), Fargo; three grandchildren and two great grandsons; one sister, Olga (David) Kapp, Rapid City, SD. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and one sister.
