Sharleen Boomgaarden

Sharleen Boomgaarden, age 80, of Woodbury, MN, formerly of Jamestown, ND, passed away Sunday, April 30, 2023 at home surrounded by her family.

Sharleen Lilian Boomgaarden was born April 22, 1943, in Carrington, ND, she was the daughter of Reuben and Lela (Pfaff) Edinger. Sharleen attended school in Carrington and graduated from Carrington High School in 1961.  She and her husband Lyle worked their family farm for many years before moving to Jamestown, ND where Sharleen worked for the US postal service until she retired.

Sharleen and Lyle Boomgaarden were united in marriage on February 24, 1963 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Carrington, ND. After their marriage, they farmed near Pingree, ND where they raised one daughter, Barbara and five sons, Andrew, Carl, Michael, Monty, and Warren. Sharleen and Lyle enjoyed camping and fishing when farming allowed.

She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Kaiser; her sons, Andrew, Carl, Michael, Monty and Warren; her grandchildren, Brittany, Garret, Dillon, Jamie, Brooke, Sara, Ryan, Myles, Caelan, Jakob, Logan, and Archer; and her great grandchildren, Sawyer, Abigail, Isabel, Liam, and Riley; brothers, Wade Edinger and Gary Edinger.

Sharleen is preceded in death by her parents, Reuben and Lela Edinger; her husband, Lyle; and her sister, Sheila Oster.

Sharleen’s Visitation will be held Sunday, May 7, 2023, from 1:00PM-4:00PM at Eddy Funeral Home, followed by a Funeral Service at 10:30 AM, Monday, May 8, 2023 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Jamestown.

Burial: Highland Cemetery, Jamestown, ND
