Sharon Kay (Parmely) Larson, age 73, of Jamestown, ND passed away on November 22, 2020 at Eventide Nursing Home in Jamestown, surrounded in love by her children.
Family will do a private viewing on Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at 2:00 pm at Eddy Funeral Home in Jamestown, ND. Burial will be at Wessington Cemetery in Wessington, SD on Friday, November 27, 2020 at 11:00 am. A Celebration of Life will be held on a later date.
Sharon Parmely was born in Miller, SD to Leo and Velma (Gilland) Parmely on April 2, 1947. She grew up on a farm in the Wessington Hills of Wessington, SD with her parents and her four sisters. She attended Elementary school at Harris Country School in Hand County, SD. She attended Wessington High School and graduated with the Class of 1965. She was united in marriage to Stephen Larson in 1967. She moved to Platte, SD in 1972 and Cooperstown, ND in 1973 to 1993. She lived the remainder of her life in Jamestown, ND. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Cooperstown.
Sharon was a hard-working mom, who eventually owned and operated a successful carpet and furniture steam cleaning business. She is most noted for her job as a proud and great mom of five children! She was also thrilled to be Grandma to six grandchildren! She will be remembered for her deep love for her family, friendships, her outgoing fun personality, her true beauty, her big giving heart, being the “fun” mom, creativeness, and let’s not forget, she could out dance anyone on the dance floor!
Grateful for having shared in Sharon’s life is her three sons and two daughters: David “Duke” Larson of Jamestown, ND, Troy (Jodi) Larson of Cooperstown, ND, Leslee (Bruce) Bonebright of Sauk Rapids, MN, Trent Larson of Fargo, ND, and Tara Larson of Aberdeen, SD; six grandchildren: Bailee, Bennett, Aubree, Bodie, Brylee and Brenna; two sisters: Niece Koss and Kim Parmely of Sioux Falls, SD; and many nieces and nephews.
Sharon is preceded in death by her father, Leo; her mother, Velma; her sisters: Janeen LaBau and Vickie Herrera; her brother-in-law, Dr. Mario Herrera; her maternal and paternal grandparents; and nephew, Brad Fernholz.
Sharon also made her mark & stole the hearts of the staff at Eventide Nursing Home in Jamestown. Our family would like to sincerely thank Eventide staff for showing our mom so much love, respect, care, and treating her like family. We would also like to thank medical staff involved with mom’s care, Eddy Funeral Home, and of course all the love and support from family and friends. We will miss our mom dearly.
