Simon Aberle Jr.

Simon Aberle Jr., 66, Edgeley, ND died Friday, July 6, 2007 at his home in Edgeley.
Simon Aberle, Jr. was born on August 5, 1940 at Edgeley, ND the son of Simon Sr. and Mary (Meier) Aberle. He attended the Willowbank Township School and attended St. Francis Academy in Hankinson, ND where he graduated from high school in 1958. He then attended Normal Industrial College in Ellendale, ND. He worked on the family farm until his father's death, at which time he took over the farm.
On February 23, 1963 he married Sharon Rall at Transfiguration Catholic Church, Edgeley, ND. They settled on a farm at Edgeley where they farmed until 1985 when Simon began working for Harms Oil Co. of Aberdeen, SD. He also drove school bus for many years. He was a transport driver for Harms Oil until retiring in 2005 due to ill health. He began his long bout with cancer at that time.
Simon is survived by his wife; 4 sons: Tim, Denver, CO; Curt (Ronda), Reno, NV; Don (Holly Hauff), Kulm, ND; Spencer (Stacey), Aberdeen, SD; 12 grandchildren; 3 sisters: Bernie (Charles) Larson, Lake Park, MN; Marie (Victor) Lagodinski, Edgeley, ND; Lil Crowley, Memphis, TN; 2 brothers: Oscar (Gloria), Berlin, ND; Larry (Donna), West Fargo, ND; a sister-in-law, Shirley Aberle, LaMoure, ND and a brother-in-law, Stanley Wald, LaMoure, ND. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Adam and a sister Irene.
Simon was a member of Transfiguration Catholic Church, Edgeley, ND and the Edgeley Knights of Columbus. He served on the Mount Calvary Cemetery Board and was a religion teacher at his church. His hobby was spending time with his grandchildren. They meant so much to him and he took every chance he could to make trips to see them.
Funeral Service: 2:00 p.m. Monday, July 9, 2007 at Transfiguration Catholic Church, Edgeley, ND with Father Duaine Cote presiding.
Prayer Service: 7:00 p.m. Sunday, July 8, 2007 at Transfiguration Catholic Church, Edgeley, ND.
Visitation: noon to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, July 8, 2007 at Lisko Funeral Chapel, Edgeley, ND and 1 hour prior to services at the church on Monday.
