Simon Pfaff Jr., 87 of Tappen, North Dakota, died Wednesday, Feburary 28, 2007 at his home.
Mr. Pfaff was born May 21, 1919, on the homestead South of Tappen, the son of Katherina and Simon Pfaff, Sr. He married Hertha Roemmich, July 10, 1942 in Steele. They farmed for several years and their three children were born while they were on the farm. They moved into Tappen and ran the Farmers Cream Station and Simon also worked for the Tappen School as a janitor. In 1961 he bought trucks and owned and operated Pfaff Truck Line and a backhoe service, for a number of years. He also drove school bus and he dearly loved all children and they loved him. He then went to work for Kidder County maintaining roads until his retirement.
Simon loved to fish, work on puzzles, do crafts, woodworking and going to the coffee shop to visit with friends. He was a member of the Faith Evangelical Church, Crystal Springs, ND.
Simon is survived by his wife, Hertha, of 64 years; two sons Donald and his wife Doulie of Douglas, WY and Harlan and his wife Linda of Sun City, Arizona; one daughter Gladys and her husband Joe of Woodworth, ND; 10 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; three sisters Betha, Mary and Esther of Jamestown and two brothers, David and Elmer of Tappen.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers Jacob, John and Arthur.
Funeral Service: 1:00 PM, Monday, March 5, 2007 at Faith Evangelical Church in Crystal Springs, North Dakota.
Visitation: 1:00 to 8:00 PM, Sunday, March 4, 2007 at the Eddy Funeral Home in Jamestown, ND.
Spring burial: Fisher Cemetery, Tappen, North Dakota.
