Stan Ouren

Stanley Ouren, 81, Jamestown, ND, died Wednesday, October 11, 2006 at Bethany Cares Nursing Home, Fargo, ND.
Stanley Jerome Ouren was born August 1, 1925 at Hannaford, ND the son of Oscar and Edna (Johnson) Ouren. He was raised and attended school in Hannaford. He joined the United States Navy at age 16 and served in Okinawa during WWII. Following his discharge, he moved to Fargo, ND where he worked in the kitchen at the Veterans Administration Hospital for 12 years. He married Estelle Lee and they moved to Hannaford, ND where they ran the café. A short time later, Stan went to work for the Northern Pacific-Burlington Railroad. After a few years, they sold the café and moved to Fargo, ND and later Jamestown, ND while Stan continued to work for the railroad. Estelle died in 1978. In 1986, he married Donna Mae Menke. She died in February 1992. In 1997, he married Caroline Doctor. She died in 2001.
Stan was a member of the VFW and the American Legion.
He is survived by 2 sons: Steven J Ouren and Gregory L. Ouren, both of Fargo, ND; 2 grandchildren and a sister, Claire Lunn, Cooperstown, ND.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 wives, 3 brothers: Marvin, Glen and Cliff; and 2 sisters: Bernice and Thelma.
Funeral - 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 16, 2006 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Jamestown, ND.
Visitation - noon to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, October 15, 2006 at Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown, ND and 1 hour prior to services at the church on Monday.
Interment - Sunset Memorial Garden, Jamestown, ND
