Stephen Taylor, 87, Jamestown, North Dakota died Wednesday, October 29, 2003 at MeritCare Hospital in Fargo, North Dakota. Steve was born in Buford, ND to J.W. and Eva (Burgess) Taylor on May 8, 1916. He attended school in Trenton and Williston where he met his wife of 65 years, Della Clark.

Steve was an avid student of history, baseball and wholesome humor. A story or joke always left family and friends with a smile.

Throughout his life, Steve enjoyed working with livestock and the land, and devoted his life to helping his family. He left a legacy of respect and love for life, like a pebble in the water, ever rippling and touching people.

In later life at age 84, Steve began his writing career, publishing one book and one manuscript on his early life and experiences.

Steve is survived by his wife, Della, two sons, Donald (Elaine), Valley City, ND and Thomas (Lohna), Boise, ID, two daughters, Jeanette (Rod) Schluter, Valley City, ND and Anita (Richard) Nelson, Marathon, FL, eight grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and three brothers, Louis (Ann), Minneapolis, MN, John of Chinook, MT and Paul (Dorothy), Lynnwood, WA.

He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers; Ralph, Lloyd, Ira, Charles and Earl, two sisters; Mary and Alice, one grandchild, Curtis and one great-grandson, Thomas.

Funeral Service: 2:00 PM, Saturday, November 1, 2003 at First United Methodist Church, Jamestown with Rev. Dick Boyd officiating.

Visitation: 1:00 to 7:00 PM, Friday, October 31, 2003 at Eddy Funeral Home.
