Teri Lynn Undem, went to be with the Lord on September 1, 2019 at her home in Jamestown, ND, holding the hand of her beloved husband. She was born August 24, 1956, in Jamestown to James and Evelyn (Mannel) Bennett. She attended elementary school at Roosevelt Elementary and graduated from Jamestown High School in 1974.
As a young girl, Teri loved riding horses on her parent’s farm, and had great memories tagging along with her dad on trail rides when he worked for the railroad.
A mutual friend introduced Teri to Jim Undem and after being wooed by both his baby blue eyes and his motorcycle, the two were wed on March 21, 1975 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Jamestown. They made their home in Ypsilanti, ND, and started their family when they welcomed their first son, Jeremiah James, on April 18, 1978. God blessed them with another son, Seth David, on December 8, 1981.
Teri was a proud Bluejay mom cheering on her boys as they participated in various sports and she worked in the activities department at Hi-Acres Nursing Home in Jamestown until 1999.
Several years after her diagnosis of multiple sclerosis in 1993, Jim and Teri moved to their home in Jamestown to make the trips for doctors’ visits and activities easier.
Teri was known by all as a loyal friend, a devoted wife and mother, and a steadfast believer in her Lord Jesus Christ. She was an active member of each congregation she and Jim attended over the years and was so proud to be a founding member of her current church home, New Hope. Her greatest pride and joy were her children and grandchildren and she always did her best to attend every game, concert, or special occasion in their lives.
Teri was happiest when she was surrounded by loved ones and even though she faced many challenges throughout her life, she rarely complained and was always thankful for all she’d been given. Teri was a social butterfly, always making people feel welcomed with her warm smile and infectious laugh.
Teri is survived by her husband, Jim Undem; sons Jeremiah (Rebecca) Undem and Seth (Laura) Undem; grandchildren Andrew, Carter, and Brynlee, and Wyatt and Charlee; brothers J. Doug (Bev) Bennett and Steve (Anita) Bennett, along with many cherished brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, and dear friends. Teri was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Evelyn Bennett.
All services will be held at New Hope Church in Jamestown starting on Thursday, September 5 with visitation from 5 – 7 pm followed by a prayer service at 7 pm and a funeral on Friday, September 6 at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be offered to Hospice at Jamestown Regional Medical Center, New Hope, Trinity Lutheran Church or Atonement Lutheran Church.
Arrangements are in the care of Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown.
