Thomas Anton Massine

Thomas Anton Massine, 72, Jamestown, North Dakota died Thursday, June 22, 2006 at Innovis Hospital in Fargo, ND.

Thomas was born March 20, 1934 in Rugby, North Dakota the son of Michael and Elizabeth (Gerger) Massine. He grew up on the farm and went to school through the 8th grade at Balta, ND. Later, he received his GED in 1983 at the Vocational Center in Jamestown. On February 12, 1957, Tom enlisted in the US Army and received an honorable discharge in February 1963 and returned to live in Jamestown. Thomas married Diann Fischer. He worked as a mechanic at various jobs including Mayer Truckline, J & L Service, R.M. Stoudt Ford and Cenex, all of Jamestown. Thomas retired from Farmers' Union Oil, Jamestown. He also did custom combining. He owned his own small engine repair shop in Jamestown at the time of his death.

Thomas was a member of the Eagles in Jamestown. He enjoyed playing cards, dancing, and listening to old time music. He was an avid mechanic.

Thomas is survived by his two children: Stacy (Robert) Ruud, Fargo and Scott (Tammy) Massine, Jamestown, companion, Pat Stoller, Jamestown, and her family: Holly (Curt), Jon, and Susan (Dan), five sisters: Florence Vetsch, Rugby; Anna (Leonard) Schneibel, Harvey, ND; Kathryn (Bob) Gaudett, Amesbury, MA; Connie Gunda (John) Koble, Balta, ND and Sister Gertrude, Fargo and two brothers: LeRoy (Kris) Massine, Lebanon, OR and Michael (Diane) Massine, Minot, ND and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Steven; Diann Massine; two brothers in infancy; one sister, Rose Thompson; and two brothers-in-law, Maurice Thompson and Emil Vetsch.

Memorial Service: 10:00 AM, Tuesday, June 27, 2006 at the Basilica of St. James, Jamestown with Father Al Bitz and Rev. Doug Opp officiating.

Vigil: 7:00PM, Monday, June 26, 2006 at the Eddy Funeral Chapel, Jamestown, ND

Visitation: Monday, June 26, 2006 from 9:00AM to 7:00PM at the Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown.

Burial: Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown, North Dakota.
