Tom Haroldson

Tom Haroldson, 55, Jamestown, ND, died Thursday, May 31, 2007 at his home in Jamestown.
Thomas Myron (Tom) Haroldson was born at Trinity Hospital in Jamestown on July 8, 1951 to Myron and Colleen (Murphy) Haroldson. He attended St. John's Academy, graduated from Jamestown High School in 1969 and also the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN in 1973. During his college career he attended Jamestown College for one summer session. He earned his Master's Degree from Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington, in 1975. Tom married Laurel Brosowske August 17, 1974 in Wyndmere, ND. After graduate school, Tom worked in office supply sales in Spokane, and office systems products and for Hallmark Cards in Bismarck, ND. He then had the opportunity to buy Haroldson Office Supply in Jamestown, as a third generation owner. The office supply business was started in 1939 by Tom's grandfather I.O. Haroldson, who sold it to Tom's father Myron. Tom purchased Haroldson Office Supply on January 1, 1982.
Tom has been living with cancer for the past 5 years. His positive attitude and sense of humor have sustained him on the cancer journey. He was the Honorary Co-chairperson of the Jamestown American Cancer Society Relay for Life in 2005 and was the top individual fund raiser in Jamestown for 2005 and 2006.
Tom's interests & activities have included Past President and charter member of the Buffalo City Lions Club, Jamestown Elks Lodge # 995, Jamestown Hockey Association Board, Past President and member of the YMCA Board of Directors, Boy Scout Leader & enjoyed golfing at the Jamestown Country Club. He helped with soccer & hockey teams and was the announcer for Jamestown High School hockey and soccer games for several years.
He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Ann (Jerry) Specht, Gillette, WY; and 2 sons: Erik, Davenport, IA, and Christopher, Fargo, ND; 3 grandchildren: Haley, Tyler & Ryan Specht, Gillette, WY; his mother, Colleen (George) Mastel, Rio Verde, AZ; sister, Mary (Ed) Antonowicz, Cave Creek, AZ; in-laws, Charles and Beverly Brosowske, Wyndmere, ND; sisters-in-law: Gail (Del) Nantt, Rochester, MN; Janet (Dennis) Klosterman, Mooreton, ND; Barb Brosowske, Fargo, ND; and a brother - in-law Tom (Maxine) Brosowske, Wyndmere, ND.
He was preceded in death by his father, Myron; infant twin brothers, James & John; and brother-in-law, Steve Brosowske.
Funeral - 1:30 p.m. Monday, June 4, 2007 at DeNault Auditorium in the Reiland Fine Arts Center at Jamestown College, Jamestown, ND.
Prayer Service - 7:00 p.m. Sunday, June 3, 2007 at Trinity Lutheran Fellowship Hall, Jamestown, ND
Visitation - 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, June 3, 2007 at Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown, ND
Interment - Calvary Cemetery, Jamestown, ND
