Twila Ellingson

Twila Ellingson, 90, Berlin, ND, died Saturday, June 16, 2007 at St. Rose Care Center, LaMoure, ND.
Twila Lorraine Nelson was born August 26, 1916 near Steele, ND, the daughter of George and Clara (Ness) Nelson. She moved with her parents to Berlin, ND in 1919 and attend the Berlin, Badger and Wano Township schools and graduated from Berlin High School in 1934. On October 10, 1938, she married Glenn Ellingson at the Methodist Parsonage in LaMoure, ND and they settled in Berlin. She worked for the LaMoure County Agent's Office, was a teller at the Merchant's State Bank in Berlin and was a substitute at the Berlin Post Office.
Twila was a 4-H leader for 10 years, a member of a homemaker's club, the Mother's Club at school, the Berlin Birthday Club and treasurer of the Henrietta School in Berlin. She was confirmed at the United Methodist Church of Berlin where she was a Sunday School teacher, a member of the WSCS and sang in the choir. In 1969, she joined Wesley United Methodist Church of Edgeley, ND, when the United Methodist Church in Berlin closed. She enjoyed crafts and chaired the Fall Bazaar at the United Methodist Church for several years.
Twila dearly loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was loved by them.
Survivors include her husband, Glenn, Berlin, ND; a son, Darryl (Maureen) Ellingson, Berlin, ND; 2 daughters: Diane Freih, Fargo, ND; Glenda (Barry) Townsend, LaMoure, ND; 7 grandchildren: Lee, Shawn and Aron Ellingson; Tammi and Travis Freih; Beau and Elise Townsend; 15 great-grandchildren and a sister, Lavon Olson, Alexandria, MN.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Edythe Mae and a brother, Kay.
Funeral - 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 19, 2007 at Wesley United Methodist Church, Edgeley, ND
Prayer Service - 7:00 p.m. Monday, June 18, 2007 at Lisko Funeral Chapel, Edgeley, ND
Visitation - 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday, June 18, 2007 at Lisko Funeral Chapel and 1 hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday.
Interment - Berlin Community Cemetery, Berlin, ND
