Velinda Davis

Velinda ""Linda"" Davis, 54, Jamestown, North Dakota died Thursday, July 13, 2006 at MeritCare Hospital in Fargo, North Dakota.

Velinda ""Linda"" Kurtz was born December 5, 1951 in Jamestown the daughter of Elmer and Beverly (Lien) Kurtz. She grew up in the Ypsilanti, North Dakota area and received her education in Ypsilanti and Jamestown, graduating from Jamestown High School in 1969. Linda married Brett Davis on September 20, 1969 in Jamestown. She was the Residential Coordinator for Alpha Opportunities, where she helped residents who had developmental disabilities in their homes.

She enjoyed genealogy, in particular researching her own family history, camping, reading and especially spending time with her grandchildren.

Linda so enjoyed helping people that even in her death she reached out to others by giving the gift of life through organ donation.

Linda is survived by her husband; two daughters, Melissa ""Missy"" Davis, Buffalo, NY and Jennifer Davis, Jamestown; one son, Chad (Lisa) Davis, Jamestown; her mother, Beverly Kurtz, Jamestown; three grandchildren, Liz, Jacob & Leah; one brother, Michael (Susan) Kurtz, Jamestown; a sister, Katherine (James) Frank, Buffalo, NY; her mother-in-law, Marjorie Davis, Ypsilanti, ND and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, father-in-law and a sister in infancy.

Funeral Service: 10:00 AM, Monday, July 17, 2006 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Jamestown with Rev. Doug Opp officiating.

Visitation: 1:00 to 7:00 PM, Sunday, July 16, 2006 at the Eddy Funeral Home in Jamesotwn.

Prayer Service: 7:00 PM, Sunday, July 16, 2006 at the Eddy Funeral Chapel.

Burial: Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown, North Dakota
