Vera Tally, 86, of Jamestown, North Dakota died Tuesday, December 23, 2003 at Jamestown Hospital, Jamestown.
Vera Joos was born September 9, 1917 in Pingree, North Dakota the daughter of Christian B. and Marie (Zerbel) Joos. She was educated in Jamestown schools, graduating from Jamestown High School in 1935. Vera was a telephone operator for Northwestern Bell in Jamestown, Pittsburg, CA, and Abilene, TX. She married James D. Tally on August 7, 1946 in Buffalo Gap, TX. They moved to Jamestown where their home has been since. Vera retired from Northwestern Bell after 31 years of service.
Vera was a member of the United Presbyterian Church, Jamestown.
She is survived by her husband, James D. Tally, Jamestown, ND; two sons, Danny Tally of Jamestown, and Scott Tally of Fargo, ND; three grandchildren, Kate of Jamestown, Bryna of St. Paul, MN, and Alex of Gardena, CA; and one sister, Violet Krogh of Jamestown.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Chester, Raymond, and Irvin; and two sisters, Viola and Verna.
Memorial Service: 11:00AM Monday, January 5, 2004 at Eddy Funeral Chapel with Rev. David Thompson officiating.
No Visitation scheduled.
Burial: Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown.
