Verney J. Jorgenson

Verney Jane Jorgenson, age 85, of Jamestown, ND passed on to her heavenly home December 2, 2024. She was born December 9, 1938 at Mercy Hospital in Valley City to Anton and Helga (Guttormson) Strander. Verney, the second youngest of 12 children, grew up on a farm near Fort Ransom, ND, graduating from Fort Ransom High School in 1956. After graduation, Verney worked for at the Manchester Biscuit Company in Fargo. On May 23, 1958 she was united in marriage to the love of her life Lawrence P. Jorgenson at Ft. Ransom's Standing Rock Lutheran Church.

Over the course of 65+ years of marriage Larry and Verney enjoyed dancing, camping, bowling, and numerous other activities. Together, they travelled around the country, visited Europe, toured Alaska and spent 27 winters in Texas. She was very involved in Christian activities at her church Concordia Lutheran and with the Sons of Norway. Verney was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.

Verney is survived by two of her three sons: Russell (Sheryl) Jorgenson of Mason, MI and Randall (Judith) Jorgenson of Jamestown; 5 grandchildren: Paul, Gayle, Amanda, Hannah and Riley; sister Genevieve, brothers Emery and Roger and many nieces and nephews. She was proceded in death by her son Robbin, husband Larry, her parents, brothers Harry, Arnold, Lloyd, and James; sisters Caroline, Olive, Rosella, and Irene. May God Bless Her Memory.

Visitation will be 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Wednesday, December 11, 2024 at Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown, ND.  Funeral service will be 10:30 AM, Thursday, December 12, 2024 at Concordia Lutheran Church, Jamestown, ND with Pastor Tom Eckstein officiating.  Interment will be in Sticklestad Cemetery, Ft. Ransom, ND.  Verney's funeral service will be live streamed on her obituary page @www.eddyfuneralhome.com.
