Vernon Trangsrud

Vernon Trangsrud, 93, Jamestown, ND, died Sunday, March 30, 2008 at Jamestown Hospital, Jamestown, ND.
Vernon Alan Trangsrud was born September 27, 1914 in Cooperstown, ND, the son of Gilbert and Theressa (Wallum) Trangsrud. He lived in Binford, ND, Carrington, ND, Wimbledon, ND and Jamestown, ND where he completed his schooling, graduating from Jamestown High School in 1933. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith at Trinity Lutheran Church on Jamestown. On May 19, 1935, he married Olga Lieberg in Moorhead, MN and they lived in Grandin, ND and Valley City, ND until 1941 when they moved to Wimbledon, ND where he joined his father and brother in the Trangsrud Implement Company. In 1967, they moved back to Valley City, ND where Vernon worked for Geisler Implement Company. He retired in 1977 and they moved to Spiritwood Lake, ND where they lived until moving to Jamestown, ND in 1998. He continued working with his son and granddaughter at the Plaza True Value store until his death.
Survivors include his wife, Olga; a son, Richard (Judy) Trangsrud, Spiritwood Lake, ND; 7 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Jerauld of Waterloo, IA; a brother, Ralph of St. Cloud, MN and 2 sisters: Bernice Meikle of Jamestown, ND and Dorothy Bugbee of Sebring, FL.
Funeral - 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 3, 2008 at Concordia Lutheran Church, Jamestown, ND
Visitation - 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 2, 2008 at Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown, ND, with the family receiving visitors from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Interment - Sunset Memorial Garden, Jamestown, ND
