Viola Kaiser

Viola Kaiser, 94, Jamestown, ND formerly of Streeter, ND passed away Sunday, November 22, 2015 at Missouri Slope Care Center, Bismarck, ND.
Viola (Horst) Kaiser was born May 18, 1921, to Jacob and Louise (Rott) Horst. The Horst family made their home on a farm SW of Streeter. Viola was the third of six children born to this family. She received her education from rural schools in the German Township of Logan County.
On November 5, 1940, she married a neighbor boy, David Kaiser. They made their home on the Kaiser farm, in the Streeter Flats. Three sons were born and raised on the farm which is still in the family. Viola was well acquainted with farm labor and the rich experiences it brought. She loved milking cows, didn't complain about setting hay stacks, and was always available to help out where needed. She was mindful of how hungry 3 boys and a husband could get during a hot summer day, providing a great reason to bring sandwiches and ice cream out to the field. David and Viola retired from the farm in 1975 and moved to Jamestown.
Viola was a member in the Seventh-day Adventist Church; through her life and was active in children's divisions, Community Services and other projects. She also loved to sew and quilt, making several quilts and many baby quilts for grandchildren and as gifts to newborns. Music played an important role in her life, especially group singing such as duets, trios, and quartets until she gradually lost all of her hearing in the past few years. She remained in her home enjoying gardening and entertaining her family until recent months when after a couple of falls she resided at Missouri Slope Care Center, in Bismarck.
Violas is survived by her three sons; Duane (Deb) Kaiser, Portland, Oregon; Dennis (Cherryl) Kaiser, Bismarck, ND; and Curtis (Mary Ann) Kaiser, Streeter, ND; 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; one sister, Irene (John) Keszler, Lodi, CA; two brothers, Percy (Rose) Horst, Bismarck, ND and Lloyd (Gloria) Horst, Lincoln, NE. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband David, one brother Clarence Horst and a sister, Marcella (Horst) Stoltz.

Funeral Service: 10:30 AM, Monday, November 30 at Seventh Day Adventist Church, Jamestown, ND.
Visitation: 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, Sunday, November 29 at Eddy Funeral Chapel.
Burial: Miller Cemetery, Streeter, ND.
