Violet Gruebele

Violet Gruebele, 87, Pettibone, ND died Friday, March 11, 2011 at MedCenter One Hospital, Bismarck, ND from complications following surgery.

Violet Schmidt was born September 11, 1923 in Frettim Township, ND to Fred and Mary (Kassman) Schmidt. She married Ludwig ""Louie"" Gruebele on April 23, 1946 in Steele, ND. Violet enjoyed riding the senior citizen bus, sewing quilts for family members, cooking, baking buns and cookies, pies and kuchen which she always shared with family and friends. She enjoyed holidays with family and always loved seeing grandchildren and great grandchildren, they were all very dear to her heart. Violet was loved very much and will be missed by all who loved her.

Violet is survived by three daughters, Corrine (William) Scott, Jamestown, Verleen Gruebele, Pettibone, ND, Annette (Cal) Ova, Jamestown, ND; one son, Terry Gruebele, Pettibone, ND; six grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; three step grandchildren; seven step great grandchildren; two brothers, Reinhold Schmidt, West Fargo, ND and Harry Schmidt, Pettibone, ND, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sisters, Martha Gaub, Catherine Kolberg, Freida Guthmiller, Elizabeth Guthmiller, brothers, Reuben Schmidt and an infant daughter, Mary Margaret.
