Violet ""Vi"" Suko, 85, Jamestown, North Dakota died Friday, January 18, 2008 at Hi-Acres Manor Nursing Home in Jamestown.
Vi was born July 6, 1922, south of Gackle in Logan County, ND, the daughter of Emanual and Ida (Brosz) Brosz. She was the third child of five. She grew up and was educated in the Gackle area. She married Nathaniel Suko, Jr., November 13, 1938, on the family farm near Alfred. They made their home near Sydney, where they farmed from 1939-1976. They raised and showed registered guernseys for several years prior to 1968. During this time Violet served several years on the ND Dairy Princess committee. In 1976, they moved into Jamestown. She loved to garden, read, and do needle work until she lost her sight to macular degeneration. She loved and was loved by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren very much and will be missed greatly by all. She had been a resident of Hi-Acres Manor since June of 2006. She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church.
Vi is survived by her four daughters, Edress (Elroy) Wegner and Sharon (Ken) Michel, both of Jamestown, Marlys (Gary) Carlson, Spiritwood, ND and Karen (Gerald) Wendel, Sanborn, ND; two sons, Donald (Pat) Suko, Cotton Lake, MN and Gary (Kathy) Suko, Beulah, ND; 15 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren and 3 step-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; two sisters and two brothers.
Funeral Service: 10:30 AM, Tuesday, January 22, 2008 at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Jamestown, with Pastor Gary Ball-Kilbourne officiating.
Visitation: 11:30 AM to 7:00 PM, Monday, January 21, 2008 at the Eddy Funeral Home in Jamestown, ND.
Prayer Service: 7:00 PM, Monday, January 21, 2008 at the Eddy Funeral Chapel.
Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Jamestown, North Dakota.
