Virgil A. Brilz, 67, Medina, North Dakota died Saturday, October 5, 2002 at his home in Medina.
Virgil Anton Brilz was born January 13, 1935 at New Salem, North Dakota, the son of Lucas and Mary (Dworshak) Brilz. The family lived at St. Anthony, North Dakota where Virgil started school. They later moved to Bismarck where he finished his schooling. He was employed by Quality Meat Market, Bismarck, for 18 years. He married Della Hellwig on September 17, 1956 at Bismarck, North Dakota. In the fall of 1966, they purchased the Locker Plant in Medina, North Dakota. He and Della ran the Locker Plant until September of 1990 when he retired due to his health. He enjoyed Country Western music and was the Lead Singer for Butch's Band for many years. He also did wood carving and crafts and enjoyed fishing.
Virgil is survived by his wife, Della Brilz, Medina, ND; son, Jeff (Janet) Brilz, Hunter, ND; daughter, JoEtta (Rod) Davis, Winnemucca, NV; two grandchildren, Stephanie and Evan Davis; mother, Mary Brilz, Jamestown, ND; 3 sisters, Viney Inglish, Medina, ND; Kathy (Ernie) Dodson, Las Vegas, NV; and Irene (Arlen) Hillius, Medina, ND; and a sister-in-law, Betty Brilz, Bismarck, ND. He was preceded in death by his father, brother (Clarence), 2 sisters (Lorraine and infant sister) and a brother-in-law, (Gene Inglish).
Funeral Mass: 2:00 P.M. - Wednesday, October 9, 2002 at St. Mathias Catholic Church, Windsor, North Dakota with Fr. Joseph Okogba officiating.
Vigil Service: 7:00 P.M. - Tuesday, October 8, 2002 at Eddy Funeral Chapel, Jamestown, North Dakota
Visitation: 1:00 to 9:00 P.M. - Tuesday, October 8, 2002 at Eddy Funeral Chapel, Jamestown, North Dakota.
Burial: Medina Cemetery, Medina, North Dakota.
