Virginia Ann Fanta

Virginia A. Fanta, 72, of Jamestown, ND, died Saturday, July 1, 2006 at Central Dakota Village, Jamestown.

Virginia Ann Newbury was born July 20, 1933 south of Crystal Springs, ND, the daughter of John Oscar and Anna Theresa (Oberlander) Newbury. She attended rural schools near Crystal Springs and granduated from Tappen High School. Virginia was employed by J.C. Penny in Jamestown for 25 years.

She was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ, Jamestown. Virginia enjoyed flower gardening, traveling and dancing.

Virginia is survived by one daughter, Candace J. Horn, Vancouver, WA; one son, Michael B. (Karly) Fanta, Gig Harbor, WA; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one brother, George R. Newbury, Minot, ND; one sister, Sandra K. Schultz, Venitta, OR and a special friend, Levi Schopp of Jamestown.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Dwight and Morris.

Funeral Service: 2:00 PM, Thursday, July 6, 2006 at the Eddy Funeral Chapel in Jamestown with Rev. Vernon Bader officiating.

Visitation: 1:00 to 8:00 PM, Wednesday, July 5, 2006 at the Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown.

Burial: Fisher Cemetery, Tappen, North Dakota.
