Virginia Kudrna, 85, of Jamestown, ND, died Saturday morning, November 25, 2017 at Sanford Health, Fargo, ND.

Virginia Jackson was born August 31, 1932, in Oswego, NY, the daughter of Polish and Ukrainian immigrants, Michael and Sophie (Zion) Jackson. She grew up in Oswego and graduated from high school. When she was 18 years old, Virginia joined the United States Air Force on May 22, 1951 and attended the Great Lakes Naval Station near Chicago, IL where she was trained as a Dental Assistant. She met Andrew Kudrna while stationed at Larson Air Force Base in Moses Lake, WA. They were united in marriage at St. Stephen Catholic Church, Oswego, NY on March 22, 1952. Virginia supervised others as an oral hygienist until being discharged on April 29, 1953 as an Airman Second Class WAF Dental Hygienist. They began their family on Shaw Air Force Base, South Carolina and Andrew was discharged in 1955. They moved to Jamestown where Andrew worked for Jamestown Dental Laboratory and they purchased the business in 1957, retiring in 1996.

Virginia was artistic. She loved to draw and do crafts, woodcarving, playing piano and singing. As a young girl, she was in the Polish Church Choir and would often sing Ava Maria in Polish. Virginia also loved animals and children, doing anything for them. She always gave of herself before others, had the gift to gab, and gave great hugs.
