Walter Krawczyk, 73, Jamestown, ND, died Monday, May 17, 2010 at Innovis Hospital, Fargo, ND surrounded by his children.

Walter W. Krawczyk was born August 7, 1936 at Trinity Hospital, Jamestown, ND, the son of Stanley and Mary Maciewski Krawczyk. He was raised in Fried, ND and attended St. John's Academy, graduating from St. John's Academy High School in 1955. In 1956, he enlisted in the United States Navy where he served until 1958. Following his discharge, he worked on road construction in southwestern North Dakota around Scranton and Bowman, ND. On June 20, 1964, he married Patricia Pavlicek in Scranton, ND and they settled in Jamestown, ND. Walter worked as a truck driver for White Drug and Kurda Mills Elevator, Spiritwood, ND. He later worked in maintenance at Jamestown Hospital from 1977 to 2004 when he retired.

Walter was a member of St. James Basilica, Jamestown, ND. He enjoyed woodworking and spending time with his family and friends.

Survivors include 5 children: Linda (Les) Hennings, Gillette, WY; Douglas (Toni) Krawczyk, Jamestown, ND; Dennis (Dawn) Krawczyk, Jamestown, ND; Jackie Kleese, Jamestown, ND; Cynthia Nihill, Bismarck, ND; 9 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters: Mary Peterson, Valley City, ND; Irene Gunkel, Fargo, ND; Pat Weldon, Oceanside, CA and special friends: Sheldon and Marni Mohr and Evelyn Kramer, Jamestown, ND.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; 1 granddaughter; a son-in-law; 3 brothers and 3 sisters.

Funeral - 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 21, 2010 at St. James Basilica, Jamestown, ND

Prayer Service - 7:00 p.m. Thursday, May 20, 2010 at St. James Basilica, Jamestown, ND

Visitation - 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Thursday, May 20, 2010 at Lisko Funeral Chapel and 1 hour prior to services at the church on Friday

Interment - Sacred Heart Cemetery, Fried, ND
