Walter Reiland

Walter Reiland, 88, Pingree, ND, died Tuesday, April 7, 2009 at St. Rose Care Center, LaMoure, ND.

Walter Herman Reiland was born August 4, 1920 in Breman Township, Wells County, ND, the son of Herman and Frances (Lill) Reiland. The family moved to Cathay, ND in 1929 where Walter attended school and farmed with his father until the fall of 1939 and then farmed on his own farm until 1963. On October 14, 1961, he married Rosemary Matz in Edgeley, ND and they settled in Pingree, ND where they farmed until 1981. Walter also did custom combining, repair work, lathe work and had a hydraulic jack and air wrench repair business until the summer of 2008 when he retired.

Walter was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church of Pingree, which he also helped to build. He loved to hunt and fish.

Survivors include his wife, Rosemary and two brothers: Theodore (Maria) Reiland, Molt, Montana and Justin (Lucy) Reiland, Kennewick, WA.

He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sisters: Sister Mary Alice Reiland and Marie Bultman; a brother, Robert Reiland; a sister-in-law, Elizabeth Reiland and a brother-in-law, Paul Bultman.

Funeral - 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at St. James Basilica, Jamestown, ND

Prayer Service - 7:00 p.m. Monday, April 13, 2009 at Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown, ND

Visitation - 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday, April 13, 2009 at Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown, ND and 1 hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday.

Interment - Pingree Cemetery, Pingree, ND
