Wayne Junior Lux

Wayne Junior Lux, Jamestown, North Dakota, died Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at MedCenter One in Bismarck, ND, at the age of 72 years, 2 months and 28 days.

Wayne was born January 11, 1937 at Jud, ND, the son of Arthur and Hulda (Ruff) Lux. He was baptized on August 1, 1937 by Pastor Schmidt at Trinity Church in LaMoure County. As a young boy, the family moved to Edgeley, ND where the family farmed. Wayne entered the US National Guard in 1954 and was honorably discharged in 1957. At the age of 18, Wayne left the family farm to work for Jacobson Construction Co. building grain elevators, and later worked for Moline Construction Co. Wayne married Jeanette Schultz in August 1965. Jeanette died April 17, 1980. In 1980, Wayne established and operated Lux Concrete until his semi-retirement in 1998. Wayne married DeLoris Walz in April 1990 in Jamestown. He continued to work parttime for Lux Concrete until his death.

Wayne was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Jamestown, El Zagel Shriners, board member of the James River Senior Citizens and a life member of the Eagles.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, car races, spending time with his grandchildren and especially attending his grandson's hockey games.

Wayne is survived by his wife, DeLoris, Jamestown; three sons, Roger Lux, Washington, Bryan (MaLinda) Lux and Rodney (Tish) Lux, both of Jamestown; one stepdaughter, Holly (Jim) VonBerge, Norwood, MN; one stepson, Bryan (Dannille) Walz, Aberdeen, SD; seven grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and two sisters, Janice Johnson, Pewaukee, WI and Nancy (Tim) Dwyer, West Bend, WI.

He was preceded in death by his first wife; parents; one sister, Shirley Lux; and brother-in-law, Mylo Johnson.

Funeral Service: 11:00 AM, Monday, April 13, 2009 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Jamestown, with Pastor Harlan Kaden officiating.

Visitation: 1:00 to 7:00 PM, Sunday, April 12, 2009 at the Eddy Funeral Home in Jamestown.
