William "Bill" Trautman

William “Bill” Trautman, 89, passed away on Thursday, August 29, 2024 at Touchmark, Fargo, ND.

Bill was born on August 11, 1935 in Medina, ND to Rudolph and Edna (Bader) Trautman.  He graduated from Medina High School in 1954 and married Betty Andres on November 7, 1956.

After serving in the Army National Guard, Bill and Betty lived in Jamestown and Wahpeton, before settling in Enderlin in 1976. Bill worked for Ottertail Power Company, while Betty worked for Maryhill (formerly Hillcrest) Manor, the local nursing home.  After working for Ottertail Power Company for 33 years, Bill retired on June 1, 1998.  Bill and Betty would eventually retire to Bismarck, ND in 2004.

Bill is survived by his four children, Brenda, Fargo, ND, Carole (David) Sherwin, Bismarck, ND, Steven (Gloria) Trautman, Enderlin, ND, Connie Bissell, Virginia; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren; one sister Modean (Jim) McCullough.  He was preceded in death by his wife Betty, parents Rudolph and Edna and this three brothers Norman, Ronald and Duane.

A celebration of life service for Bill and Betty will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, September 11, 2024 at Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown, ND with Pastor Bryce Tahran officiating.  Interment will be in North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan, ND.
