Willis Hofmann

Willis Hofmann, 72, Medina, ND passed away Saturday, November 19, 2016 at Sanford Hospital, Bismarck, ND.
Willis Hofmann was born March 13, 1944 at Trinity Hospital in Jamestown, ND, the son of Peter and Ruth (Klundt) Hofmann. Willis grew up in Medina, ND and attended rural school in south Medina and then attended Medina Public School. He entered the U.S. Army on September 8, 1964. Willis was stationed at Company A 502 Supply & Transportation at Fort Hood, Texas where he was a company clerk. He received a medal for sharp shooter. Willis was honorably discharged on June 14, 1966.
On August 12, 1967 Willis married Bonnie Moser in Median, ND. They purchased a farm southeast of Streeter, ND where they farmed until 1976. Willis and Bonnie ventured to Alice, ND where he worked for Orton Brodshaug Farms. They next moved to Fargo, ND where Willis drove semi for Holsom Bread Company. Eventually Willis and Bonnie moved back to the Medina area where he helped his dad on the family farm. After his parents retired from farming, Willis moved his family to the family farm where he still resided until his passing. He worked for Susag Sand and Gravel out of Harvey, ND and also worked at R.A.W. applicator in Cooperstown, ND for years before finally retiring.
Willis belonged to many organizations. He loved being a big part of the community. Willis had so many hobbies and interests in life. He loved watching cattle auctions on TV, ice fishing with friends and family, hunting, gardening, making his own recipes to cook (which were all good). Willis loved to build wood projects and was always thinking of new things for us to try. He loved spending time with grandkids whenever he could, talking about the old days and how it used to be.
He had one really huge hobby which was collecting John Deere equipment, like two cylinder tractors, plows and other antiques which the family uses for making hay on the family farm and for tractor pulls. Willis' biggest hobby was buying and talking about all of his toy tractors which he has to many to count.
Willis was survived by his wife, Bonnie; five children, Brent Hofmann, Medina, ND, Corey (Lisa) Hofmann, Jamestown, ND, Stephanie (Chad) Wolff, Medina, ND, Christopher (Amanda) Hofmann, Urbana, ND, Jeffrey (Jessica) Hofmann, Medina, ND; nine grandchildren, Brandon, Samantha, Ashley, Devin, Dustin, Christian, Natana, Isabella, Jaxon; three step-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Cody, Amy; five step-great-grandchildren, Brayden, Brooklyn, Xzavier, Majesty, Legacy; one brother, Dennis (Evelyn) Hofmann, Grace City, ND; one sister, Donna Loock, Medina, ND; one foster sister, Cindy Overbo, Fargo, ND. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Dale and step-great-granddaughter Sidney.

Funeral Service: 10:30 AM, Saturday, November 26 at Assembly of God Church, Jamestown, ND with Pastor Virgil Moos, officiating.
Visitation: 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Friday, November 25 at Eddy Funeral Chapel, Jamestown, ND.
Prayer Service: 7:00 PM, Friday at Eddy Funeral Chapel.
Burial: Medina Cemetery
