Wilmer Wahl, 85, Jamestown, North Dakota died Thursday, December 16, 2010 at Jamestown Hospital.
Wilmer was born June 6, 1925 in Goodrich, North Dakota, the son of Christian and Magdalena (Goll) Wahl. He attended school in Goodrich and auto body training for two years in Wahpeton. On November 13, 1944 Wilmer entered the US Army and served during World War II in the Asiatic Pacific Theater. He was honorably discharged on November 14, 1946 at Ft. Lewis, Washington. He returned to North Dakota and worked for Central Motors from 1947 to 1951. He served in Korea from 1951 to 1953, once again returning to North Dakota. Wilmer married Adeline Staiger on April 24, 1953 in Jamestown. He worked for R.M. Stoudt for 34 years, retiring in 1987. Adeline died in 1979. In 1983, Wilmer married Harriet Beaver in Jamestown.
Wilmer loved gardening, his flowers and fishing. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Jamestown.
Wilmer is survived by his wife, Harriet, Jamestown; one son, Wayne Wahl, Chandler, AZ; one granddaughter, Amber Wahl; two stepchildren, Arlene Campbell, Williston, ND and Kevin (Delly) Beaver, Binford, ND; four step grandchildren; six step-great grandchildren; two brothers, Donald Wahl, Bismarck, ND and Ervin Wahl, Turtle Lake, ND; and one sister, DeLayne Krein, Goodrich, ND.
He was preceded in death by his first wife; parents; three brothers, Fred, Edward and Clarence; and two sisters, Ida and Ella.
