Yvonne I. Zillmer

Yvonne I. Zillmer, 57, Jamestown, ND died Monday, August 29, 2011 at Jamestown Regional Medical Center in Jamestown.

Yvonne Podoll was born August 19, 1954 in Aberdeen, SD, the daughter of Raymond and Eleanor (Bohling) Podoll. She attended elementary school at St. Johns Parochial in Columbia, SD and in 1973 graduated from Frederick High School, Frederick, SD. She attended Lake Area Vocational School in Watertown, SD.

On January 7, 2000, Yvonne married Roger Zillmer in Jamestown. Yvonne did day care in her home, worked at various day care centers, and for the last nine years owned her own cleaning business.

Yvonne's hobbies included sewing, plastic canvas needlepoint, baking and crocheting. She volunteered at church as a Sunday School teacher and helped with church quilting. Yvonne's love of children and horses came together in her volunteering for Spurs in Aberdeen. She showed her patience and love for the elderly when she delivered Meals on Wheels to seniors as a volunteer.

Yvonne is survived by her husband, Roger, of Jamestown; two step-daughters, Christina (Derrick) Brooks and Brandi Zillmer, both of Spokane, WA; six step-grandchildren and one step-great grandchild; mother, Eleanor (Bohling) Podoll, Aberdeen, SD; four brothers, Keith (Elaine) Podoll, Arlington, WI, Dean (Kathy) Podoll, Aberdeen, SD, Russ (Monica) Podoll, Fargo, ND and Glenn (Kathy) Podoll, Hazen, ND; one sister-in-law, Kathleen Podoll, Edmond, OK; and many nephews, nieces and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, one brother, Leland Podoll, Edmond, OK; paternal grandparents, Ferd and Anna (Buntrock) Podoll; and maternal grandparents, Henry and Frieda (Lunzman) Bohling.
