Judy E. Greer, 71, formerly of Jamestown, ND died Saturday, September19 at St. Rose Carecenter, La Moure, ND,which she made home since January 12, 2005.
Judith Elizabeth was born May 22, 1949 at Nashua, NH. Her parents Elmer McDonald Cobb (born in MA) and Elilzabeth Jeanne (Lee) Cobb (born in Lily, SD) met working in Washington, D.C. and married in 1946. He was in the service and she in the War Department.
Judy and her parents moved to SD near Aberdeen and then to Jamestown, when her dad needed a drier climate to live in. He worked as a finish carpenter and furniture maker and Judy was using 4 pieces of furniture during these last years. Jeanne was the Alfred Dickey head librarian and was very active in Grace Episcopal Church and many service and cultural clubs.
Judy graduated from Jamestown High School and completed training in Lewis Hotel-Motel Management. Anne Carlson School and Rainbow Girls were among her interests.
Judy married Harold Martin and they grew beautiful gardens around their trailer park home in Jamestown.
Jeanne and Harold each moved to live with Judy in their later years at St Rose, dying on 9-13-2010 and 1-03-2008 respectively.
On August 2, 2014, Judy married David Greer from Jamestown but living at St Rose, at Trinity English Lutheran Church with Pastor Puffe officiating. They had 5 years of joy, laughter and teasing until his death on 9-29-2019 at St Rose.
Judy enjoyed music, singing, worship services and social gatherings meeting new folks easily. Her hobbies were reading, learning channels on TV, and spent many enjoyable hours pencil and color sketching rural or lake settings from her memories and photos of homes and grandparents' towns. Bridges, homes, churches, business buildings and gentle hills were featured.
Richard and Mary Greer and Frances Greer are remainng family of Judy's. Inurment will be at David's graveside at Prairie Home Cemetery, Gilby, ND. Eddy Funeral Home of Jamestown making arrangements.
A non-public prayer service will be held September29 at 2 p.m. at St. Rose. Memorials can be sent to St. Rose or St Jude's Children's Hospital.
